Barbie Willey
Office Administrator
Barbie joined the team in 1985 as a Legal Assistant. Today, she is the Office Administrator and manages the day-to-day operations of the firm, including human resources, facilities and benefits. Having worked at CT for over 37 years, she can testify that the firm is a great place to work. In her spare time, Barbie and her husband, David like to travel, hike and camp exploring the Maine woods. Barbie is a member of the Society for Human Resource Management.,
Charlie Corbett
Controller
Charlie is responsible for managing all aspects of accounting operations at Curtis Thaxter, including budgeting and forecasting, financial reporting, tax reporting, and internal control review and improvement. He works closely with the Managing Partner and Firm management advising on financial management and planning for the firm.
Charlie received his B.S. in Accounting from Bentley University and is a member of the Association of Legal Administrators and past President of the Downeast (Maine) Chapter of the Association of Legal Administrators. He resides in Wells with his wife and two children.
Megan Andersen
Paralegal
Megan has been with the firm since September 2020. She has over 20 years experience in real estate matters focusing on title abstracting and transactional work. She is a magna cum laude graduate from Simmons College and received her law degree from Maine Law in 2017. She was born and raised in Maine with a stint in Utah, but now resides in Cape Elizabeth. She spends her free time with family and friends with emphasis on riding bikes and skiing with her partner, Erik, and his pup, Lexi.
Daniel Chalaby
Paralegal
Daniel joined the firm in May 2024 as a real estate title abstractor and has over 35 years of combined experience as a land surveyor, land use consultant, title abstractor, and real estate paralegal. Daniel has spent his life in Maine, being raised in Boothbay and then living in Farmington, Waterville, Benton, Augusta, South Portland & his current residence in Scarborough. In his discretionary time, he enjoys latin dancing, tending to his flower garden, genealogy research, and leading a grief class.
Melinda Eldridge
Legal Assistant
Melinda joined the firm in September 1995 as a Legal Assistant. She currently works in the firm's real estate and employment and healthcare practice groups. Melinda was raised in Dayton, ME, went to an airline/travel school in Pittsburgh, PA, then moved to Winter Garden, FL where she worked at Walt Disney World for 4 years. She returned to Maine in 1986 and now resides in Saco, ME with her cat Bella. She loves being down the street from OOB for stress relief walks. Melinda enjoys visiting her son, Gabriel, whitewater rafting, hiking, traveling and shopping!
Heidi Fowler
Accounting Clerk
Heidi rejoined Curtis Thaxter in September of 2022. Heidi works part time in the accounting department focusing on billing and accounts payables. When not working, Heidi enjoys spending time with her husband and two girls.
Melodie Hopkins
Paralegal
Melodie has been with the firm since 1999. She is our Corporate and Real Estate paralegal working in transactional matters. Melodie was born in Moncton, New Brunswick and has resided in Scarborough, Maine for over 20 years. She enjoys spending time with her husband of 41 years, her sons and their partners and especially her grandchildren.
Rebecca Kinney
Paralegal
Rebecca has been with the firm since 2006 when she joined as Legal Assistant to Pete Thaxter. Since 2010, she has been the firm's Estate Planning and Probate paralegal and also supports the firm's litigation practice group. Rebecca lives in Cumberland with her husband and their black lab, Buddy.
Teri Lorrence
Legal Assistant
Teri has been with the firm as a Legal Assistant since November 1997. Teri is also the firm's Systems Administrator and works closely with our outside consultant for all IT related matters. Teri is a member of the corporate, estate planning and real estate practice groups, as well as managing the firm’s closed file project. Teri was born in Texas and raised all across the country, living the life of an Air Force brat. She made her home here in Maine when her father retired from service. Teri lives in Westbrook.
Shannon O’Connor Randall
Paralegal
Shannon has been a real estate title abstractor since 2005 joining the firm as a Real Estate Paralegal in October, 2022. Shannon researches, assists and prepares title files, as well as focusing on real estate transactional matters for the firm. She grew up in Bowdoin, Maine and now resides in Old Orchard Beach, Maine with her husband Jeremy.
Tanya Oliver
Legal Assistant
Tanya joined the firm in 2025 as a Legal Assistant and works in the firm’s Real Estate Practice Group. With her 30+ years of working in real estate she is a welcome addition. Tanya grew up in Yarmouth, Maine and graduated from Andover College with an Associate’s Degree in Secretarial Sciences. She currently resides in Topsham, Maine with her husband of 25 years, Todd and their dog Brody. When not working, Tanya enjoys watching movies, jigsaw puzzles, long drives with her husband and Brody, checking out the Maine scenery, eating out and shopping.

Karen Shanahan
Paralegal
Karen has been with Curtis Thaxter since 2015. Karen works with clients and the firm’s attorneys, handling loan and financing transactions with an emphasis on transactions involving low-income housing tax credits. Karen started her career in real estate and financing in 1987 when she moved to Newry, Maine to work in the real estate office at a local ski resort. She and her husband, Bill, live in Scarborough with Mabel (their Bernese Mountain Dog). When Karen isn’t working or practicing yoga, she and Bill enjoy time with their grandchildren, going for walks with Mabel, or visiting Maine’s beautiful coastline.
Julie Washburn
Paralegal
Julie is a litigation paralegal with Curtis Thaxter and joined the firm in 2004 assisting Curtis Thaxter’s attorneys in civil litigation. Julie has over 25+ years of litigation experience providing support in all phases of litigation including case review, discovery, motion practice, assistance and support at trial, and appeal. In addition, Julie assists in preparing applications for registration and the maintenance of Curtis Thaxter clients’ trademarks.
In her free time, Julie enjoys riding her motorcycle with her husband, hiking, spending time with family and her dog Everest.
Andrea Wescom
Reception/Office Assistant
Andrea joined Curtis Thaxter in 2024 as the firm’s Receptionist. Andrea is originally from Vermont, graduating from Northern Vermont University. With the desire for a change in scenery she moved to Maine in 2022. Outside of work, Andrea enjoys reading a variety of genres, partaking in the arts and hanging out with her pet cat, Charlie.
